Director of People Operations

 

 

At Quark we’re bringing together exceptionally talented and passionate people in the domains of energy and securities trading, quantitative research and software engineering. We’re a proprietary trading firm developing high-frequency trading strategies for power markets, as these systems slowly catch up to the algorithmic penetration of other liquid assets. Quark was co-founded by Liger Trading and Habitat Energy – two highly experienced and successful companies in the fields of electricity and algorithmic trading. We are looking for smart, motivated people to join our team, who want to play a role in shaping a new facet of the energy industry. 

We have a vacancy for a Director of People Operations to build our teams in Oxford, Krakow and New Zealand. This role will be based in Oxford, with some travel required to Krakow.

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Building our international team – recruiting, onboarding, establishing accountabilities and ensuring we have the right people in the right seats
  • Enabling people development – performance managing our team, identifying development needs and opportunities, and coaching line managers
  • Developing a strong, cohesive, international company culture that our team can be proud of
  • Managing employee compensation and benefits
  • Ensuring all aspects of HR compliance and core process across our regions

Required experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in an HR or people management role, ideally within a start-up or rapidly scaling company
  • A demonstrable track record of building and developing a high-performing team
